Digital Printing

The digital revolution is quickly over taking many of traditional decoration methods. From engraving to laser engraving, from traditional hand embroidery to quick impact 3D stitching and now from screen printing to digital direct to garment printing. At this point the digital printing has not reached the speed of which you print garments. Traditional screen printing and automatic printing is still the fasted best way to get print t shirts. I’m guessing in the future the print for printing be reduced down a lot in price because there will be no screen to shot, film to print out, no chemical to buy. Direct to garment is the future of decoration. Traditional printing will still be around but digital printing will dominate in about 5 years with printer being faster and inks being more durable.

Nice post - there's really no doubt, at least in my mind, that digital printing is the next generation in printing. Printing of media other than paper-based has been a bit slower in joining the 'digital revolution' than, say, photography, but I think the old ways will soon be marginalized.
